The art of producing images…!
Photography has been a joy of mine since I was young. I remember sticking my porcelain dolls in trees and hoping they didn’t fall out or dragging my younger brother to abondoned houses and discovering the broken down refridgerators or piles of old shoes… it doesn’t sound like much, but I still have the pictures in frames as a reminder of what art is and that it can only be defined by you!
I chose the name Joy Studio for a few reasons…. 1. My middle name is Joy and 2. It is something I hope to give with each wedding, children, or family session. It is my gift to the world! JOY! What could be more fun than that.
I hope that my photography blesses you as much as it has me.
I’ve had the honor of learning most of what I know from my parents in life and in photography! (My dad is a professional photographer and my mom is the best graphic artist I have ever met in Armour, SD! www.marksphotoimages.com) I also had the privelege of working with an amazing photographer in Sioux Falls for four years, who became my mentors and prayer partner! Love you Candace and Melissa hehe! And last but definatelynot least - the talented woman who constantly reminds me to keep Christ at the center of our studios and families; Amy!! So as far as education in photography, I guess… you could say I was taught by the best people possible!
